Protagonist time

i'm not great at designing characters and hope to improve on drawing humans and general perspective 

Next up on the agenda is to create this main character, to drive the story forward, to become a part of the user and their personalities. This character will become the protagonist. The idea that I have in mind is to have a cowboy on a treasure hunt, maybe it is a bit typical, movie like and stereotypical but a treasure hunt to find something is really good fun. I feel that this character should be serious but comical at the same time. I have been  putting together a character together and I intend to work on him to make him have more of a personality and a character, a person that the user can recognize. 


Side note on the concept above, this is just a rough outline with a few painted parts but one thing I want to learn and improve on is creating an image of a human realistically and make the feet/shoes right :)
